My favourite and iconic hairstyles from the 1950s
The pomadour - was made popular by Elvis Presley
The DUCKS ASS (D.A)! - much earlier in the 30s up to present day, the ducks ass was originally referred by the teddy boys and rockers as the "tony Curtis". Tony curtis was an American actor whom elvis looked up to and adopted tonys style of combing his hair.
Flattop - the flattop first appeared in the early 1900s. In the 50s it was often referred to as a crew cut, mainly popular with college students whereas the pompadour and D.As were adopted by the rockers and teddy boys. 50s icon the big bopper was down for his choice on the flattop haircut.
The jelly roll - mostly associated with the 1950s edwarian teddy boys. John Lennon in his early teens was a teddy boy and would comb his hair into a jelly roll and then into a DA at the back
